Kasaragod is famous for Theyyam ritual performances. Theyyam, the ritualistic performances, which can be described as the most visible, spectacular art form of Malabar (Northern part of Kerala), associated with myths and legends. Theyyam can also be described as a form of worship consisting of rituals, colourful costumes and divine dance through which the gods are appeased and honoured. There are about 400 types of Theyyams performed in over 1000 temples of Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala State. Theyyam season is from Oct last and ends by May next year. Neeliyar Bhagavathy Theyyam also can be seen on some days at Mangattuparamba Neeliyar Kottam during the off season. Bhootha Kola, also referred to as Daiva Kola is a ritual dance performance.  During the Bhootha Kola performance local spirits or deities are being channelized by performers. The Bhootha Kola performers belong to lower caste like Nalike, Pambada, Kopala, Nalkkathaya etc. Theyyam and Bhootha Kola have many similarities in rituals and costumes and often considered as the same. Bhootha Kola mostly performed in Udupi, Mangalore, Sulliya area of Karnataka state and some parts of Kasaragod district.

Bekal Fort is a medieval time fort built by Shivappa Nayaka of Keladi in 1650 AD, at Bekal in Kasargod district. It is the largest fort in Kerala, spreading over 40 acres. Bekal is one of the famous tourist spots in Kerala. Overlooking the shimmering Arabian Sea, Bekal is much famed for its beaches, backwaters and forts. Boating and kayaking options are available near Bekal.

Ranipuram is a village and a major tourist attraction in the Kasaragod district. It is located near Talakaveri Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala-Karnataka border. The distance between Bekal Fort and Ranipuram is about 50km. Ranipuram is famous for its trekking trails and beautiful hill view. There are trekking trails available to explore the beauty of Western Ghats of Ranipuram. It is an easy trek which will take 45 minutes to trek up the hill covering a distance of 4 km.

Malik Dinar Mosque is the second oldest mosque in India, situated in Thalangara in Kasaragod district. Malik Dinar resembles a palace built in the typical Kerala style of architecture. It has two storeys and massive beams. The structure that stands today is not the original one that Dinar constructed. Initially, it was only a small structure with a thatched roof.

Maipady Palace is a historical palace located in Kasaragod district of Kerala state in India. The palace was built by the Mayippadi Rajahs, a branch of the Bednore Nayaks, during the 16th century.
